Build a website reseller business you can actually deliver.
Sell websites under your brand with Lindo.ai's AI builder and client workspace. Start with a defined service, a realistic support budget and one paying-client pilot before committing to a larger roster.
Sell a clear outcome with a clear boundary
A small business usually needs a reliable way for customers to understand its services and make contact. Your offer can include the site, hosting, defined updates and support. The recurring fee needs to pay for those commitments after the initial sale.
Choose between a managed service, where your team makes the changes, and a self-service offer, where clients work in a branded builder. A hybrid can work, but specify which requests are included. Otherwise a low-cost subscription can quietly become an unlimited design retainer.
| Put in the agreement | Example boundary to adapt |
|---|---|
| Initial build | Five pages, approved client content, one enquiry form, mobile review and two revision rounds. Quote setup separately. |
| Monthly service | Hosting and up to 30 minutes of small content changes. State whether unused time expires. |
| Support | A named contact and a realistic response window during stated business hours; response time is different from resolution time. |
| Outside scope | New pages, copywriting, ecommerce, custom integrations, accessibility audits and SEO campaigns require separate approval. |
| Ownership and exit | Record domain ownership, renewal responsibility, available handover materials and the cancellation process. |
This is a planning example, not a standard contract or a recommended market price. Use your delivery capacity and client needs to set the scope. If your first prospect needs booking, memberships or ecommerce, validate those workflows before including them in the package.
Recurring revenue is the starting number
The model below starts at 20 clients paying $99 per month. Its $297 platform input is an illustrative cost assumption, not an offer for a specific Lindo plan. Adjust it to your current quote, including any annual commitment and required add-ons.
The money left after delivery
Put your own numbers in.
Illustrative USD assumptions, not a Lindo plan quote or an earnings forecast. Annual subscriptions should be entered as the annual total divided by 12. Blank inputs count as zero.
Model break-even: 7 paying clients, assuming these costs stay unchanged.
This excludes initial builds, refunds, bad debt and any costs you have not entered. Payment fees use a percentage only; include fixed transaction charges in other costs. Higher client counts may require a different plan. This calculation does not check site or credit allowances.
Read the result before increasing the client count
With the defaults, $1,980 in revenue minus $297 platform cost, $400 support labor, $59.40 processing and $200 other costs leaves $1,023.60. That is before tax, initial builds and omitted expenses. At five clients the same assumptions lose $116.85; the fixed cost does not shrink with the roster.
Change support from half an hour to two hours per client and the 20-client example falls to a $176.40 monthly loss. This is why an explicit update allowance matters. Track actual support time during the pilot instead of assuming every client stays easy to serve.
At 50 clients, first confirm that the platform plan supports 50 active sites and the associated usage. Lindo’s public White Label allowance is 20 active sites; the current Reseller allowance is 200. A larger roster can require a different cost input. Check current plans and limits.
What the platform handles—and what you own
Lindo’s part
AI-assisted website drafts, visual editing and hosted publishing provide the production base. Supported white-label settings let you configure the client-facing brand and access. Client offer and billing settings support your packaging.
The public Reseller plan adds a higher site and credit allowance and embedded-webapp capability. Review the White Label vs Reseller breakdown and request confirmation of your exact workflow.
Your part
You choose the niche and offer, obtain permission to use client material, verify business claims, collect approval, and answer client questions. You also manage domain ownership, payment responsibilities, renewal expectations and your service agreement.
A branded interface does not remove dependency on the provider. Ask how outages, client data, exports, account closure and support escalation are handled before selling promises you cannot control.
If you are still selecting the underlying software, compare six white-label website builders for agencies. Lindo is one option; the right choice depends on the service and features you must deliver.
A four-week validation plan
These are work stages, not a promise of customers in 30 days. Advance when the evidence is ready; stay on the current stage if the offer or delivery still needs work.
- Week 1 — define a narrow offer. Choose one business type and write the scope, exclusions, setup fee and monthly service. Talk to prospective buyers about how their current website is managed. Record what they would actually pay someone else to handle.
- Week 2 — build and test the service. Use permitted or sample content to create a representative site. Record build time, revision work and operational checks. Configure the branded client journey. Save a mobile walkthrough and an honest explanation of what is included.
- Week 3 — approach relevant prospects. Use a short, specific message explaining a real website problem you can address. Present a clearly labeled concept where appropriate, without implying endorsement or existing client results. Follow the rules and consent requirements of the outreach channel.
- Week 4 — deliver one approved pilot. Confirm scope and payment arrangements, collect content, build, review and publish with client approval. Log support requests and actual effort. Decide whether the package is repeatable before promising a larger rollout.
Use the reseller sales playbook for offer development and the go-to-market plan to organize launch work. If the pilot replaces an existing site, follow the agency migration playbook and preserve important URLs.
Three reasons to pause expansion
Pause if required client features remain unverified, if support consumes the service margin, or if the first site depends on undocumented manual fixes. Resolve the cause and repeat the pilot. More clients amplify delivery problems as readily as they increase revenue.
Questions before you commit
What is a website reseller business?
A website reseller packages a provider's website platform or delivery service under a customer-facing offer. In a white-label platform model, you set the service and client price while the provider operates the underlying software. You remain responsible for selling, delivery promises, client support and your own costs.
How much can a website reseller earn?
There is no guaranteed amount. Twenty clients paying $99 per month produce $1,980 in gross monthly revenue. Under this page's illustrative defaults, platform cost, support labor, percentage payment fees and other costs leave $1,023.60 before tax and omitted costs. Replace every assumption with your actual costs; this is not a customer result or forecast.
Do I need the Reseller plan to sell websites?
Match the plan to the capabilities and capacity you need, not only the plan name. Lindo's White Label plan is aimed at branded agency delivery; Reseller lists higher site and credit allowances and embedded-webapp capability. Check current entitlements, billing terms and client settings before choosing.
Is this passive income?
No. Recurring billing still requires customer acquisition, onboarding, content review, support, payment follow-up and retention work. AI can help with drafting, but it does not take responsibility for client approvals or the quality of a published site.
Can I move an existing client portfolio into Lindo?
Evaluate one representative site first. Inventory URLs, content, forms, integrations, accounts and billing arrangements. Rebuild and test the required behavior before moving the domain. Do not assume subscriptions, application data or WordPress plugins transfer with a generated draft.
Test the service before selling it at scale.
Build one representative client site, review the branded workflow, and put measured delivery costs into your offer. A free draft helps evaluate the builder; paid white-label capabilities have separate plan requirements.
