Domain Rating (DR) is an Ahrefs metric that estimates the strength of a website’s backlink profile on a scale from 0 to 100. Lindo shows the DR for your connected apex domain in Website → Analytics. For example, both www.example.com and example.com use the score for example.com.

How to read the score

DR uses a logarithmic scale. Increasing a score from 70 to 80 is much harder than increasing it from 20 to 30. The score is most useful when you compare your domain with websites in the same market. A lower score does not mean that a website cannot rank, and a high score does not guarantee rankings.
Domain Rating is an Ahrefs metric, not a Google ranking factor. Search engines consider many signals beyond backlinks.

What can improve Domain Rating

  • Earn links from trustworthy, relevant websites.
  • Create useful resources that other sites naturally reference.
  • Build relationships and partnerships in your industry.
  • Avoid artificial or low-quality link schemes.
Traffic, page design, and publishing frequency do not directly change DR unless they lead to stronger backlinks.

  1. Connect and verify a custom domain.
  2. Open the website editor.
  3. Select Analytics.
  4. Find the Domain Rating card at the top of the page.
The gauge color helps you read the score at a glance, while the number remains the value reported by Ahrefs.
